Over View

After a short panoramic tour of northern Rome, we travel by the “Sun Route” motorway, crossing the regions Lazio and Umbria, to reach our destination: Florence, the City of Etruscan. Florence flourished in the Middle Ages, as a free commune. Refined by the Renaissance Art and enriched by the Medici rule, Florence is the cradle of the Italian language. We will arrive in the heart of the city to visit the Galleria dell ’Accademia, where the original David by Michelangelo is housed, together with the Third “Pietà” and the Prisons, also by Michelangelo. We will then proceed to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with the magnificent dome projected by Brunelleschi,. Then the Baptistry with the golden bronze doors by Ghiberti and Giotto’s Belfry. We will walk to the Piazza della Signoria with the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence’s Town Hall, the Loggia dei Lanzi with the Perseus by Cellini and the Fountain of Neptune.After lunch, we will visit the Piazza Santa Croce.
